據《立世阿毘曇論》卷二〈數量品〉記載，須彌世界以須彌山為中心，外圍有八山、八海順次環繞，整個世界有如圓形燭盤。此曼荼羅為銀質，分上下兩層，上層內套三層，依次向內漸縮，層層環繞，中央置法輪，形成一須彌世界。
各層周壁均錘鍱鍍金八吉祥，邊緣鑲嵌各色聯珠寶石，部分已脫落。法輪呈圓形，外緣作蓮瓣形，鏤雕；中央為軸承，設八輻條；最外圍雕卷草紋，由蓮座相托。
