Manuscript of the Prajnaparamita Sutra

傳為東印度十一至十二世紀作品。此《八千頌般若經》貝葉經經板，紫檀木所製，呈長方形，板蓋面鐫刻天鵝一對及蓮瓣，邊框飾有圖紋，精緻典雅。經文以梵文墨書於淺黃色的貝多羅葉上，並彩繪佛像插圖。整體保存良好，經文字跡清晰如新，是流傳至今重要的佛教經典遺物之一。
般若經典為闡說般若波羅蜜經典之總稱，包括《大品般若經》、《小品般若經》等數十部。《小品般若經》，即《八千頌般若經》，又稱《八千頌》，為大乘佛教最初所說般若空觀經典之一，另有藏譯本。
