甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土。此圖描繪引路菩薩引導亡者往生淨土的情景。圖上方的小型天宮表示淨土，分三層且交錯排列整齊。引路菩薩雙足分踏蓮台，引領著貴族裝扮的女性亡者一同乘雲前進。
菩薩戴化佛寶冠，具觀音之特徵。其左手持長柄香爐，右手執長竿掛幡。亡者身形嬌小，衣飾講究，袍上的紋樣團花圖案開始流行於晚唐（846～907）。圖中有許多細膩的描繪，如以極細的墨線繪出長柄香爐的香煙裊繞、綴在幡手及幡足的菱形碎箔、人物衣飾上精心描繪的花紋等。圖右側有長方形榜題，但未題字。
