此尼泊爾造像呈倚坐姿，作說法印，當為彌勒佛。彌勒信仰分為兩支，一為上生信仰，信仰現今於兜率天說法之彌勒菩薩，而欲往生兜率天；另一為下生信仰，相信彌勒將來下生此世界時，於龍華樹下，三會說法，以救度眾生。
佛面容安詳，呈青年樣貌。頭微俯，螺髮略顯粗大，肉髻低平，額頭高廣，五官俊秀，斂目垂視。身著通肩袈裟，兩袖衣緣順勢垂下，於兩側層疊作褶。雙手當胸，纖長的手指結說法印，雙腿自然下垂，倚坐於台座上。由身軀比例與誇大的袈裟邊緣及縫邊，可知此像約造於十一至十二世紀之間。
