佛陀自忉利天返人間像

印度波羅王朝（Pala，約8～12世紀）九世紀作品，表現佛陀自忉利天返回人間，是常見的佛傳故事題材。
主尊釋迦牟尼佛造型樸素，著通肩袈裟，薄衣貼身形同赤裸，帶有鹿野苑風格。右手施與願印，指間呈縵網相，左手屈舉提握衣角，足踏仰覆蓮台。
佛右側下方梵天持拂子，左側下方帝釋天雙手擎傘蓋，傘蓋雕於佛頭上方。橢圓形背光邊緣飾火焰紋，內緣以凸起的裝飾條紋作框，框上兩側與佛頭部等高處各雕一座佛塔，左右對稱，為該像特色。背光內圈刻佛法要義。
