佛坐像
印度北方邦鹿野苑遺址出土
印度北方邦瓦拉那西（Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh）鹿野苑（Sarnath）出土。佛螺髮齊整，大眼微啟，流露冥想神態，五官具印度人面貌特徵。著通肩袈裟，薄若透明，體現勻稱身形。雙手作轉法輪印，呈倚坐姿勢，足踏仰覆蓮台。圓形頭光平滑無飾，僅於邊緣刻聯珠紋和連弧紋，與佛像風格一致。座下兩側刻有獅子，代表佛以無畏音說法，如獅子吼。
整體造像樸質無華，展現靜謐、和諧、崇高及完美的意象，反映出笈多王朝（約320～550）古典主義藝術的審美旨趣。
