Todaiji Temple Lotus Hall: Mirror

日本八世紀之作。為日本奈良東大寺法華堂殿內懸掛於梵天、帝釋天頂上華蓋的二面寶鏡之一。自奈良時代（710～794）即有將鏡嵌入佛堂天花板、額枋或華蓋中心、佛像背光等處，以莊嚴佛殿或佛像。
鏡呈圓形，素卷緣，白銅鑄造。以界線作成多重方格紋飾，由內往外，第一重海濤紋地方形鈕座，鏡心設一獸形凸鈕，形似龜殼。第二重為八朵對葉花紋。第三重為十二隻姿態靈動之瑞獸紋樣。最外區刻劃四身飛天和雲紋。
此鏡與中國出土同紋樣的唐（618～907）鏡相比，輪廓較不鮮明，推測係以唐鏡為鑄模之作。
