Zenrinji Temple: Gong

日本十二世紀作品。懸掛於磬架上，敲之而鳴。磬是中國古代樂器，以玉石製成。本屬禮器之一，後成為寺院擊鳴之法器。一九五三年指定為日本國寶。
磬為銅質鎏金，呈低緩山形，上下緣作相連的均等弧線，周緣以二條凸線框成，左右肩部設環扣。磬正反面的紋樣相同，中央為較小的蓮花形撞座，外以二重八葉單瓣蓮花紋環繞，兩側鑄對稱的蓮花卷草紋樣，間飾魚子紋。
此磬製作於日式風格逐漸成熟的平安時代（794～1185）末期，為高水準金工藝術之作。
