Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva

觀音菩薩像 陳洪綬

畫面分為上下二部分,上部為長篇題跋,下部為畫像。題跋全篇抄錄《心經》一部,可知畫中為觀世音菩薩。觀音作男子像,與明代(1368~1644)一般的女像觀音不同。款署「雲門僧悔病中敬書」。雖無作畫時間,但根據落款「僧悔」可知作於入清(1644~1911)之後,為陳洪綬晚期畫作。
 觀音坐於菩提葉的蒲團之上,左膝豎起,右腿盤屈;右手作說法印,左手置於腿上拿麈尾。麈尾賦以很重的石青,柄為赭色,色彩對比鮮明。觀音面相與陳洪綬典型的羅漢像如出一轍,戴耳環,長眉下垂。描繪手法細緻,用流暢的長線條畫出,採用所謂春蠶吐絲描,而不是在其後期人物畫中常出現的頓挫描法。
 人物形象與唐代(618~907)壁畫中維摩詰善辯的形象又頗接近。畫家在畫中塑造的觀音不只具超然形象,且兼具士大夫高僧形象。
