為潘天壽以指畫作品。潘天壽，浙江寧海人，平生從事藝術創作和藝術教育。精於大寫意花鳥，擅指畫，兼工山水人物。
畫中達摩呈側面像，額頭高廣，絡腮鬍，飾大耳環，身形巨大如磐石，幾乎占了畫面的一半，氣勢宏偉。鬍子及衣襟以濃墨點畫暈染，畫風及繪畫技巧奔放不羈、氣勢超拔。
