據畫中題識，此幅為《大阿羅漢難提蜜多羅所說法住記》中的第八位伐闍羅弗多羅尊者。元至正五年（1345）繪，是十八羅漢圖其中的一幅。此組羅漢畫尚有其他兩件存世，一為慶有尊者像，一為注荼半託迦尊者像，均藏上海博物館。然此像基本動態、風格特徵與注荼半託迦尊者像較為類似。
尊者頭微上仰，內著交領袍服，外披袒右袈裟，左手持金剛鈴舉於胸前，右手握金剛杵置於右膝上。垂左足，弓右膝，去履坐於太湖石上。此圖用線簡勁流暢，賦色沉著雅致，細節描繪精到。
