此作是王紱逝世前兩年所畫。以善財童子參拜觀音為主題。圖中觀音戴寶冠，面相圓潤，彎眉細目，神態安詳怡然，左手置於腹前平放，右手撫右膝，結跏趺坐於蒲團上。觀音右側置插柳枝之淨瓶，左側則為跣足參拜之善財童子。觀音、善財童子位於岸邊較開闊的平地上，背後作突兀的山石、挺拔的竹林，圖左側則作一平靜水面，渺遠處有雲霞縹緲。
人物為白描，線條簡潔流暢而富有表現力。王紱擅長山水、竹石，此圖為其晚年作品，故背景之山水竹石顯得極為成熟老練。畫面表現環形上抱狀的竹節時，運筆略帶方折，幾成半菱形，與其中期平緩、柔和的畫法不大一樣。
隔卷有行書《金剛般若波羅蜜經》，字體溫雅圓和，與觀音菩薩圖堪稱合璧。
