位於西藏自治區拉薩市大昭寺（lha ldan gtsug lag khang）覺康大殿，造於十七至十八世紀。松贊干布（srong btsan sgam po，？～650在位）為吐蕃王朝（7～9世紀）的締造者，先後與尼泊爾赤尊公主和大唐文成公主聯姻，引進佛教，翻譯佛經，成為大力提倡佛教的君王，被尊為法王及觀音菩薩的化身。
該像頭纏長巾，頂部有無量壽佛頭像，表示對佛的禮敬，此為松贊干布像的標識之一。面形方正，抬頭仰視，濃眉大眼，神情專注，目光炯炯有神。著窄袖長袍，胸前及腰帶飾寶石。坐於卡墊上，足蹬高靴。右手置右膝上，左手撐座，形象英挺。
