赤松德贊（khri srong lde btsan，755～797在位）是吐蕃王朝（7～9世紀）三大法王之一。此像為西藏作品，其寶劍和經書的持物特徵，說明藏族人民尊奉他是三怙主之一的文殊菩薩化身。
該像頭戴寶冠，面相端正，雙目低垂。身披長袍，腰繫絲帶，左右肩側升起花莖，花上置寶劍、經書。雙手於腹前結定印，結跏趺坐於方形高座上，座兩側飾相背的獅子。
