此像中國隋代（581～618）作品，右手持淨瓶，應為觀音菩薩，與日本東京國立博物館收藏的大勢至菩薩立像形成一對，推測為同組造像。菩薩頭戴寶冠，冠旁繒帶沿身側垂至腹前，面龐圓潤，眉目細長，嘴角微收，表情沉靜典雅。形體纖細，瘦臂削肩，右手屈肘持淨瓶，左手垂握帛帶，端立於由蓮莖托起的圓台上。袒上身，下著長裙，胸前佩戴珠串瓔珞、腕釧，長串珠玉由腰身垂至膝前。肩搭帔帛，繞過臂肘飄至體側，並垂及圓台，帛帶尾端呈卷曲狀，具裝飾效果。
桃形頭光周緣作弧圈形，內部鏤空花紋，五尊小化佛分布其間。整體造型勻稱精美，刻工細緻，集圓雕、浮雕、透雕及線刻技法於一身。
