Horyuji Temple Golden Hall: Apsara Playing a Flute

日本

飛天像刻製於七世紀。原垂掛於日本奈良法隆寺金堂釋迦三尊像上方之方形天蓋,共二十四身。今安置於該寺大寶藏殿。現為日本重要文化財。
 作品頭部、身軀及蓮座一體雕成,蓮瓣以榫頭插入。飛天綰雙髻,臉龐長圓,以童子身形端坐於蓮花座上。手持樂器,或吹豎笛,或敲鼓,或彈琵琶,或吹奏笙簧等,姿態各異。身後上方以透雕的翻轉帔帛及蓮花卷草紋作為背光,左右對稱。作品於白色底上施以朱、綠青及赭色等顏料,姿容優雅,表現當時的藝術特色。
