甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土。繪製於十世紀上半葉。觀音稍側向右，臉部豐腴，局部施加暈染，眼角以細線拉長。頭戴寶冠，耳佩大璫，頸畫三道紋，髮髻於寶冠後梳得細長，兩肩垂髮披覆，髮梢具圓潤感。
觀音二手戴兩圈紅色腕釧，並點綴綠色珠翠。身披帔帛，胸前掛珠串，帛帶繞於雙肘，垂下呈「U」形，裙襬衣紋線施以暈染，表現出立體感。左手舉於胸前；右手托器物，器物內長出莖蓮，並開敷紅蓮花葉。足踏雙蓮台，蓮瓣敷以紅、白二色。
此圖以細勁的墨線及色彩暈染等方式描繪。圖左上長方形榜題書「无南觀音菩薩」，正確應為「南无觀音菩薩」，以打勾符號訂正「南」、「无」二字的前後順序。
