五方佛又名五智如來、五智佛、五聖，或稱五禪定佛，指密教中以大日如來為首的五尊佛。
五方佛皆頭戴三葉寶冠，冠葉間有細條相連是十五世紀前藏傳佛教造像特點之一。從畫面右側向左，分別是施觸地印的不動佛、施與願印的寶生佛、結智拳印的大日如來、施無畏印的不空成就佛及施定印的阿彌陀佛。五佛身軀勁健，肩寬腰細，雙臂圓實，具有喀什米爾風格。
尊像底板白綾書寫「大利益番銅舊琍瑪南方寶生佛」等字樣，是清宮的原始紀錄。從中尊大日如來的智拳印及其餘尊像底板所貼白綾上之文字，可以判斷這組西藏造像屬於金剛界五佛。
