江西建昌 建築家
字明所。生於一六一九年，卒於一六九三年。明（1368～1644）末清（1644～1911）初建築家。建昌（今江西永修）人。雷起龍後代。早年從事木工，技藝高超，後應募至北京參與宮殿營建，任清宮樣式房掌案，重建太和殿設計，成績卓著，有建築藝術大師之譽。其後七代亦繼承家業達兩百餘年，主要的皇室建築如宮殿、皇陵、圓明園、頤和園及佛寺建築等均為雷氏家族設計，其特點在施工前以草紙板熱壓製成燙樣，即模型，世稱樣式雷，享有雷式建築世家之美譽。
