王淵

畫家

字若水,號澹軒、虎林逸士。生卒年不詳。元代(1271~1368)畫家。錢塘(今浙江杭州)人。年幼時曾蒙趙孟頫指授畫法。擅長畫花鳥、山水,尤精水墨花鳥。山水師郭熙,花鳥師黃筌,人物學唐人,一一精妙。其畫水墨皴染,深淺有致,得寫生之妙,構成既嚴謹細密又清淨淡雅的特殊風貌。  
 天曆年間(1328~1330)修建集慶(今江蘇南京)龍翔寺,其曾與唐棣參與壁畫繪製,惜今已不存。傳世作品有竹石集禽圖,藏上海博物館;桃竹錦雞圖、牡丹圖,藏北京故宮博物院;松亭會友圖、鷹逐畫眉圖,藏臺灣臺北故宮博物院。
