沙門洞泉 高芙蓉

這是一方頗有新意的印章,四字雖然平均分布,但沒有像漢印明顯的十字間隔,「門」與「泉」二字平穩,「沙」與「洞」二字的水字邊,以三個弧形表示,向背交替依序排列,使線條有流動的感覺,在平正中參入奇趣。用刀乾淨利落,整體格調高古清遠。
 高芙蓉本姓源,通稱逸記,名孟彪,字孺皮,號芙蓉,別號冰壑山人、三嶽道者,室名菡萏居。日本江戶時代(1615~1868)甲州(今山梨)高梨郡人。少年時進京結識當時名流池大雅、韓天壽。擅長詩書畫印,篆刻尤為絕倫。
 作者極力倡導篆刻必須直追秦漢古印,更要能汲古出新,刀法受明代(1368~1644)蘇宣爽利風格影響。其篆刻理念能指引印壇明確方向,跟隨者眾,開創「芙蓉派」,又稱「古體派」,是日本篆刻界的主要流派之一。編撰《漢篆千字文》、《古今公私印記》,著有《菡萏居印譜》。
