位於俊乘堂。俊乘為淨土宗僧，曾於京都醍醐寺學習真言密教，後師事法然，學習淨土。平安仁安二年至安元二年（1167～1176）之間曾三度入中國，並參與阿育王山舍利殿的建設。平安治承四年（1180）該寺主要伽藍被燒毀，俊乘以勸募之職復興，居功厥偉。該像推測係鎌倉建永元年（1206）俊乘房重源八十六歲圓寂後不久所製，為鎌倉時代（1185～1333）肖像雕刻中出類拔萃的作品。一九五一年指定為日本國寶。
該像與真人等身，由多材檜木接合而成，妝彩。眼窩深陷，下眼瞼鬆弛，左右眼大小不均衡，目光銳利，臉部深刻皺紋，嘴唇緊閉，嘴角下垂，顯現堅忍的意志。手持數珠舉至胸前，衣服寬綽，頸部筋脈浮起，下顎向前凸出，寫實地呈現道貌岸然之老僧相。每年七月五日開扉供眾參拜。
