重慶合川
位於西崖右側壁。據「造六祖大師」題記，可知西崖以六祖惠能大師及《六祖大師法寶壇經》為主造像。此圖將惠能聞《金剛經》和作偈等不同時間與空間發生的情節組合在同一畫面中，著重鐫刻惠能聞經之喜悅，江州別駕張日用讀惠能所作「菩提本無樹，明鏡亦非台，本來無一物，何處惹塵埃」偈後眾人驚訝的情景。
圖中人物分前後兩排站立，後排居中二人蓄鬚髮，左右侍立四僧。前排居中為一袒胸露腹的大肚和尚，左右立二僧。二位蓄鬚髮者面露笑容，眾僧面部表情及動作均作驚訝狀。圖中前排居中為惠能，將其雕刻為袒胸露腹，以示見性成佛。此圖雕刻精湛，人物性格、表情、姿勢各具神采。
