印度中央邦阿拉哈巴德瑟德納縣巴爾胡特遺址出土
印度中央邦阿拉哈巴德瑟德納縣（Satna, Allahabad, Madhya Pradesh）巴爾胡特遺址（Bharhut）出土，原為佛塔圍欄浮雕。圖中的佛塔，作為象徵佛進入涅槃之意。兩旁並列的娑羅樹，代表佛陀入滅處的拘尸那揭羅。
浮雕中央的佛塔裝飾華麗，覆鉢部分刻有兩重鮮花與藤蔓，塔頂的四重平頭與兩層傘蓋提升了佛塔的整體高度。佛塔右上方是手持花盤的散花飛天，左上方是迦陵頻伽手持花環。佛塔右側雕有四頭獅子柱頭的阿育王石柱，佛塔周圍是合掌的信眾。菩提樹、佛塔、法輪柱、空台座等等，是巴爾胡特佛塔在佛像尚未產生之前，用來象徵佛陀常見的題材。
