Amaravati: Footprints of the Buddha

阿瑪拉瓦提佛足印
印度安得拉邦阿瑪拉瓦提遺址出土
印度安得拉邦（Andhra Pradesh）阿瑪拉瓦提遺址（Amaravati）出土。足心刻有千輻輪，輪的中心有複瓣蓮花，蓮花的外圍輪軸部分成放射狀圓形輻輪。佛足外形平滿不凹凸，著於地足跡清晰可見，雖平板卻沒曲線，符合佛三十二相之足下安平立相。足根刻有三寶標及「卍」字，是古印度吉祥的標誌，腳趾上亦刻有裝飾圖案的棕櫚紋。足印兩側各有二合掌禮拜者。
佛像出現之前，多以帶印紋的佛足來代表佛陀的存在。佛像出現之後，則意為佛陀出行時留下的足跡，在印度各地受到廣泛崇拜，其後佛足崇拜還傳播到東南亞、中國、朝鮮、日本等地。
