Amaravati: Paying Respect to Sakyamuni’s Hair

印度安得拉邦阿瑪拉瓦提遺址出土

印度安得拉邦(Andhra Pradesh)阿瑪拉瓦提遺址(Amaravati)出土。原為大塔圍欄上的浮雕裝飾,內容表現悉達多太子出家之際,以刀割去頭髮拋向天空,帝釋天接住佛髮,迎至天宮供奉。
 畫面中央,帝釋天張開雙臂,以頭和雙手撐一橢圓形大盤,盤上盛佛髮,其周圍眾神簇擁,呈環狀分布;諸神服飾相近,姿態多樣。
 人體刻劃纖細柔美,群像密集分布,整體畫面充滿了曲線性的韻律感。人物的動態誇張,裝飾繁複,正是阿瑪拉瓦提美術後期的特色,此風格後為伊修瓦克王朝(Iksvaku,3~4世紀)的龍樹丘美術所承襲。
