Rinnoji Temple: Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara

日本十二世紀作品。千手觀音坐像與背光以淺浮雕一體鑄造。下方露出圓柱形榫頭，原插於台座加以固定，安置於廚子內壁，作為禮拜用，今台座已佚。一九五九年指定為日本重要文化財。
整體呈三葉形，銅鑄鎏銀，作插具形式。千手觀音面貌豐圓沉穩，乃平安時代（794～1185）後期特色。寶冠上並排一列化佛，髻頂上為佛首。主要手臂有八隻，以合掌、上舉或垂放等姿勢置於正面，其餘兩側各十五臂，分持法器，從肩後伸展呈放射狀。
菩薩身後有圓形頭光、身光，邊緣以兩道弦紋勾勒輪廓，內部細刻紋樣；頭光外緣則飾纖細的菊花蔓草紋。背光周緣留有鑄料薄膜，左右下方部分手臂應為後來加鑄，表面可見鎏銀的痕跡。
