表面鎏金多處脫落，背面兩大孔是製造痕，蓮台為後加的木座。藥師佛的信仰約始於七世紀中葉，造像則在八至九世紀時最為盛行。藥師佛於過去世修菩薩道時曾發十二大願，為眾生除病安樂、除難解脫、飽食安樂等，因此藥師佛常一手持藥鉢或摩尼寶珠，教化有情。
立佛左手持鉢，臉形方圓，頸部有三道紋，神情莊嚴。身著袒右肩僧祇支，薄衣貼體，襞褶流暢，肩寬腰細，肌肉結實，是韓國八世紀中葉的作品。
