菩薩臉圓帶方，眼下視，鼻翼寬，嘴闊唇豐，表情平靜。頭頂有化佛，冠帶長長垂落臂側，肩寬，帔帛繞過手臂，婉轉波折直到蓮座。下身著裙，腰部微微向右出胯，左膝微彎，動感含蓄。右手持楊柳枝，左手提淨瓶，是觀音常見的持物。鎏金有點狀剝落，頭光及方形台座另鑄，以插榫的方式組合。
菩薩裙褶呈垂直的波浪紋，動感依舊，對人體結構掌握的純熟度也不變，但是線條感和韻律感卻由緊湊轉變為舒緩，由強健轉為溫婉，整體氣質閑適自在。同時，裝飾也更為繁複，頸飾、長瓔珞還有腕飾，數量增加，且是由一粒粒圓珠串起。鏤空的植物紋頭光，為技巧與細節的表現。唐代（618～907）的菩薩不僅是宗教信仰的尊像，更傳達當時普遍的審美意趣。
