該像為西藏地區十五世紀的作品。以錘鍱成形，背面上下各開一方孔，原裝藏用。身著鎧甲，作武將打扮，手持寶珠及劍柄，長劍已失，此尊應為南方增長天王。
天王頭戴寶冠，冠帶飛舞，身著冑甲，兩袖揚起，裙襬外張翻飛，身側飄帶亦隨之外張，氣勢昂揚。冠上、胸前、腰飾、衣緣和長靴多處鑲嵌綠松石和青金石等，衣服底紋布滿「米」字形編織紋、雲紋和碎花圖案，極富裝飾色彩，表現尼泊爾的造像特色。
西藏桑日丹薩替寺（gdan sa mthil）曾供奉這類造型風格的天王，此尊應屬藏傳系統造像，但其所具有的裝飾性、流動感與華麗感，與西藏當地造像的質樸、強調護法尊像的怖畏威儀，兩者差異很大。
