此像形體高大，螺髮細密，螺髮與肉髻之間有髻珠，面相豐滿，眼瞼下垂，眉毛連接鼻梁，眉間白毫碩大，偏袒右肩，肩部較為寬厚，手作降魔印。整體造型與吐含山石窟庵佛坐像相同，被認為是高麗（918～1392）初期之作品。
據中國河北易縣《大唐易州鐵像碑》得知，鐵鑄佛像於唐朝（618～907）已有。五代（907～960）宋（960～1279）遼（907～1125）金（1115～1234）時期的大型鐵佛均有遺存，高麗時期的鐵鑄佛像亦有其特色。由此可了解，中國與韓半島在這段時間流行鐵佛造像，反映佛教藝術在一定歷史時期的共同趨勢。
