One Finger Chan

一指禪 潘天壽

「一指禪」為禪宗公案名,又作俱胝一指、俱胝豎指。唐代(618~907)俱胝和尚以豎立一指作為化導學人之機法,世稱「一指禪」。
 此為朱文長方章。印文直式三字,以漢篆結構,字體方正,布局的章法上,「一指」二字占印面的半部,「禪」字占印面的下半部。
 對於邊欄的處理,上左及右下較為厚重,反之則是纖細的線條,這是以斜對角的方式呼應,而「一指」的左側,與「禪」的右側,均有借邊,似取法齊白石的印風。
 雖以切刀澀進法入印,唯線條刻劃較浙派用刀薄弱。筆畫以平正守法為主,能平衡印面,擅巧妙借邊,以虛襯實,使空間疏朗,風格高古蒼拙。
 潘天壽原名天授,改名天壽;字大頤,號壽者,別署阿壽、雷婆頭峰壽者等。浙江寧海人。精於大寫意花鳥、山水、人物,善指畫,工書法,擅治印。集詩、書、畫、印才華於一身,兼為美術教育家。
