在家出家 姜文炳

「在家」指皈依佛教,受持三皈五戒的在家信眾,男眾稱為優婆塞,女眾稱為優婆夷。「出家」指出家修道者,與沙門、比丘同義,與「在家」對稱。
 此印為四字細白文印,以回文印方式刻成,線條纖細挺拔,空間疏朗,具有漢代(206 BCE~220)印章法度。作者刻這方印不僅合於漢印法度,也與元代(1271~1368)審美觀念相符合。吾丘衍於《三十五舉》之二十七舉曰:「白文印必逼于邊,不可有空,空便不古。」這點強調一方印章的印文比邊重要,邊處理不得當,會失去焦點。
 此方印蘊藏巧思,印面看似平靜,實則繆篆字體安排微妙,如「家」有二字,分別在第一行的下方,以及第二行的上方,彼此相似卻不相同,其中「豕」字的篆法結構微有變化,是作者刻意為之,以避開板滯。用刀則是中規中矩,如漢代玉印,琢工甚美,是一方鮮明而生動的印章。
 姜文炳,生卒年不詳。葉為銘輯《廣印人傳補遺》中,僅載「姜文炳」三字。
