「佛弟子」指佛陀在世時之弟子，其後廣指信仰佛陀教法的人。
此印以直式一行刻成，全印運用雙線遶邊，每字以界格分開，如漢磚文；所用印文特殊，乃見治古文字之學頗深。刀法以切刀為主，線條澀進，古拙有趣。
丁佛言原名世嶧，初字桐生、息齋、芙緣、松遊等，後改字佛言。別號邁鈍、松游庵主、還倉室主等。山東黃縣（今龍口）人。書法篆刻家，嗜收藏，精鑑別。書藝精湛，與吳昌碩有「南吳北丁」之稱。
