Huishan Temple: Stele of Master Dao’an

道安禪師碑 宋儋

此碑立於河南省嵩山會善寺，宋儋撰並書。凡二十八行，每行字數無考。李鎬題額「唐嵩山故道安禪師碑」隸書九字，但已磨滅。明萬曆年間（1573～1620）遭雷擊斷為二截，下截嵌於會善寺壁面，然文字磨損，甚難識讀。內容記載道安為弘忍大師的弟子，曾隨神秀禪師參禪，雖受召於朝廷，但不喜浮名而居寺中之行誼。
宋儋字藏諸，生卒年不詳，為唐代（618～907）書法家，擅楷、隸、行、草，以行書入碑，上承唐太宗（626～649在位）、李邕，而有新意。此碑書風奇特，有跌宕、欹側之姿，能於險峻中求平正，既秀勁又生動。結體鬆緊正側，行距左右揖讓皆自成一格。北宋（960～1127）黃庭堅《山谷題跋》云：「儋書清勁姿媚，尤宜于簡札，惜不多見。」可見其書之難得。
