位於西藏自治區山南地區扎囊縣桑耶寺（bsam yas gtsug lag khang）。此象用整塊石材雕刻而成，立於台座上，象身披方形墊毯，滿飾瓔珞。頭、背、臀部上有珠圈圍起來的半球體，象徵大象背馱珍寶。象耳緊貼，眼圓睜，象牙已被破壞。腿粗壯前跨，鼻內卷，身軀略呈拱形，構成蓄勢待發的威猛形象。
整座造像比例勻稱，線條簡潔明快，雕刻技術高超。據藏文史籍記載，桑耶寺建造之時，有漢地、印度及尼泊爾的匠師參加，使寺院整體建築和工藝因而融合多樣的地域風格。該石象歷經千年，至今仍保存完好，是桑耶寺保存的吐蕃時期（7～9世紀）藝術珍品之一。
