Kofukuji Temple East Golden Hall: Manjusri Bodhisattva

位於東金堂主尊左側，與右側維摩詰居士坐像相對。維摩詰臉龐清瘦，老貌身瘦，而文殊面相飽滿，體軀豐盈，英姿煥發，呈鮮明對比，雕造於十二世紀下半葉。一九五二年指定為日本國寶。
此像以檜木多材前後接合而成，像內塗以黑漆。眼嵌鑲玉石，身軀塗繪金泥，衣服施加彩色，頭髮薄塗乾漆，髮紋刻劃細緻勻整。頭戴冠帽，髻頂置梵篋，身著甲衣，外披袈裟，左手置於膝上，右手握拳，作持如意之姿，此造型推測係以中國宋代（960～1279）雕像為範本。頭光、身光皆飾滿紋樣，更顯莊重威嚴。半跏趺坐於圓形七重束腰蓮座上，像高93.9公分，座高72.7公分，束腰處蹲踞一隻圓雕的張口獅子，以承托蓮座，為當時典型台座之一。
