Kofukuji Temple: Twelve Yaksa Generals - Mihira
十二神將像
日本
此板雕群像原為日本奈良元興寺金堂浮雕的十二神將像，另一說是嵌於興福寺東金堂藥師佛台座之板飾，為十二世紀所製。一九五三年指定為日本國寶。
十二身神將除因達羅為二材接合外，其餘每身皆以平板檜木浮雕，包括帛帶、持物及足下岩座，依其輪廓刻劃形態，像內嵌入細木條以穩固像身，高約88.9～100.3公分不等，厚約3公分。十二神將為藥師佛之眷屬，為守護誦持藥師經者之護法神。
十二像中有取向正面，或側身，或安然佇立，或扭動四肢，姿態極富變化。頭作焰髮，蹙額，雙目圓睜，雙頰鼓起，鼻翼寬大，或閉嘴，或張口，表情誇張活潑，姿態多樣有趣。色彩幾已剝落，仍留有貼金紋樣。
