柬埔寨磅湛省平芩出土
柬埔寨磅湛省平芩（Peam Cheang, Kampong Cham）出土。高棉（今柬埔寨）藝術自十一世紀開始，即常出現佛陀端坐於盤曲的龍身上，龍王以其眾首護衛的造像。此類作品緣起於佛陀最初成道後，禪坐時遇暴風雨，目支鄰陀龍王將佛陀從地托起以避洪水，並以其首作傘蓋護衛。
此尊像頭顱寬大，髮絲縷縷分明；肉髻作圓錐形分為四層，均淺刻蓮瓣。眉毛相連成一直線，並以雙線刻繪雙眼。身著貼體僧袍，隱現出儀態自然的肢體。頭部和五官的表現手法反映了巴方（Baphuon）的藝術風格。
佛身後的七龍首形成蓮瓣形傘蓋，表面刻劃了法輪和細膩的紋路。佛安詳的神態，加上精緻的雕工，令此作品成為高棉佛教藝術中最具神聖性的造像之一。
