太子降生像

自日本飛鳥時代（538～645）即有為慶祝浴佛法會所鑄造的太子降生像，推測此像為奈良天平勝寶四年（752）東大寺盧舍那佛舉行開光儀式時灌佛會的主尊。一九五二年指定為日本國寶。
太子面帶微笑，神情愉悅，體態圓潤，下半身著長裙，右手高舉，左手下垂，象徵「天上天下，唯我獨尊」。前胸與手臂肌肉柔軟，展現奈良（710～794）盛期的造像手法。
灌佛盤表面以細密凸紋為底，形如魚子，間刻鶴、麒麟、獅子、虎等吉祥鳥獸及花草、樹木、蝴蝶、樓閣、雲形、飛仙等鏨刀線刻圖案，生動自然，為奈良時代藝術精湛之代表作。
