位於旦布拉石窟（Dambulla Caves）第1窟正壁。傳說此像由阿努拉德普勒時期（Anuradhapura，4世紀BCE～10世紀）的婆他伽馬尼王（Vattagamani Abhaya，89～77 BCE在位）所造。
佛身形壯碩，面相渾圓。螺髮工整，眉毛細長彎曲，與鼻梁相接。深目高鼻，嘴唇豐厚。著袒右袈裟，衣褶稠密，呈水波紋，隨身軀的曲線自然起伏。螺髮黑色，全身金黃，足底染紅，並繪上狀似蓮花輪之華麗圖案。將佛足染紅乃斯里蘭卡佛教造像特徵之一，傳說有雙重意義，一為紀念釋迦牟尼佛曾到該國弘法，一為紀念該國祖先於佛入滅後從印度南移至該地開國，腳底沾滿紅土。
