釋迦牟尼佛短髮齊肩，肉髻低平，蓄鬍鬚，鬚髮灰白，安然端坐在三名惡魔背上冥想，雙目半閉，嘴角含笑。左手掌心向上，右手掌心朝下，置於腹前，右腳盤起，左腳彎曲下懸。魔眾皆彎腰屈背，四肢撐地，蠕動不安，與佛的制心一處形成對比。佛身後矗立巨岩，岩面有重重紋路，並施以皴染。上方的菩提枝葉茂密旺盛，地上繁花盛開，生機盎然。
此圖表現釋迦苦行降魔之意趣，構圖較為少見。從背景中花朵、樹幹和巨岩之畫風，可推斷為十七世紀上半葉作品。
