Phyang Monastery Central Hall: Four-Armed Avalokitesvara

平陽寺四臂觀音菩薩像

印度

位於印度拉達克平陽(Phyang, Ladakh)平陽寺(Phyang Gompa)大經堂北壁,據題記得知出自當地畫師三帕(Sanpa)之手。
 觀音帶頭光及身光,頂戴錐形寶冠,冠帶飛揚。目細長,嘴秀氣,臉圓潤,面容祥和。袒上身,披瓔珞,嫣紅的碎花帔帛覆肩繞臂,下裳襞褶繁複輕柔。左胸現羚羊頭,為觀音苦行的象徵。二主臂當胸,似持一與願珠;另一右手執念珠、左手拈花,及於肩側。掌心及腳心施紅彩,顏色鮮明,此畫法常見於印度寺院壁畫中之尊像。
 觀音四周圍繞或坐或立的綠度母、菩薩及成就師等像,整體構圖豐富密集,人物形態多姿,用筆謹細流利,彩度飽滿,呈現十六世紀印度北方寺院壁畫風格。
