此佛傳浮雕屬犍陀羅作品，刻劃悉達多太子學習的景象。依當時王室的規矩，自孩童時期即讀書練武，學習各種技藝。
該浮雕已有缺損。圖右方坐於椅上持板書寫的應是教學的老師。圖中帶有頭光交腳而坐、兩膝上置板用筆書寫的是太子，板上可見到佉盧文（Kharosthi）。其旁有側立持鉢的侍者，後方還站著一位持板的同學，目光凝視遠處。由左邊的一棵樹，得知學習地點為戶外。畫面如實呈現當時學習的情景，頗具生趣。
