甘肅省酒泉市敦煌市莫高窟第17窟出土。依據《妙法蓮華經》卷七〈觀世音菩薩普門品〉所載，表現若遇種種危難，稱念觀音菩薩聖號即得解脫。
圖中央繪觀音菩薩頭戴化佛寶冠，左手提淨瓶，右手持柳枝，身著綴金箔的紅色衣裙，披綠色帔帛，足踏紅、青二蓮台。臉及手足先以墨線勾輪廓，再勒以朱線。觀音兩側繪八難，各有橙色榜題。圖左側由上而下為雲雷雹雨難、咒詛毒藥難、惡獸圍繞難及推墮火坑難；右側由上而下為推落須彌峰難、怨賊執刀加害難、蚖蛇蝮蠍難及手足杻械難。
觀音救濟諸難的題材常見於敦煌莫高窟壁畫及印度石窟中，反映出古代絲路旅人及商人的現實心靈冀求。
