Famen Temple Pagoda: Figurines of Lions
琥珀狻猊
陝西省寶雞市扶風縣法門寺塔地宮出土
一九八七年陝西省寶雞市扶風縣法門寺塔地宮出土。狻猊即獅子之一種，佛教以萬獸之王的獅子喻佛，亦以狻猊喻佛，佛、菩薩之台座稱為「猊座」，故尊稱高德碩學之師為「猊座下」。
狻猊一雄一雌，琥珀質，出土共二件。雄狻猊為暗紅色，頭大而圓，頭及頸部長鬣，舒展順暢。身軀鐫刻細紋，舉左前足撓首，採蹲臥姿，極富趣味和動感。雌狻猊呈淡絳色，頭形似虎，圓目露齒，身軀向前傾，作蓄勢待發捕食狀。
