木漆蒔繪海賦袈裟箱

日本十世紀袈裟箱。據《養和二年後七日御修法記》及《東寶記》記載，日本空海大師自唐（618～907）攜回其師陝西西安青龍寺惠果大師所授健陀穀子袈裟，此箱正為袈裟之貯器。現藏於京都教王護國寺。一九五三年指定為日本國寶。
經箱為木質，圓角，長方體，長47.8公分，寬39公分，高11.5公分。通體髹黑漆，密撒金細粉為地。表面再施加粗粒金銀粉，塗漆後磨光，表現浪濤中魚、海獸、龜及水鳥等若隱若現之海賦紋樣。
海賦紋為平安時代（794～1185）流行的圖案，此圖飾應有空海歷經航海苦難之旅，將密教大法流傳日本之意。經箱一側立面設銅製提環，為日後補上之物。
