靜琬題刻 釋靜琬

靜琬法師於幽州（今北京）雲居寺所書。原石已殘作兩截，前半部存九行，後半部存七行。靜琬為隋（581～618）末唐（618～907）初僧人，因有鑒於北魏太武帝（423～452在位）和北周武帝（560～578在位）大肆廢佛，恐大法湮滅，乃決意繼承其師南嶽慧思之遺願，使佛法「永留石室，劫火不焚」，遂開啟房山石經刻造之歷史。碑中自述其志，希望此經為未來法難時，可擬充經本；然「世若有經，願勿輒開」，可見其護法之恭敬虔誠。
此碑書法兼有隋碑之爽峻與唐碑之法度，故其結字與點畫安排，皆妥當而無逾規；復又使筆開張，使線質之頓挫流麗處更為顯揚，可稱書法之佳構。
參考釋文：□□敬白未來之世／一切道侶法幢將沒／六趣昏冥人無惠眼／出離難期每尋斯事／悲恨傷心今於此山／鐫鑿華嚴經一部永／留石室劫火不焚使／千載之下惠燈常照／萬代之後法炬□□／咸聞正道□□□□／乃至金剛更□□□／此經為未來佛□／難時擬充經本世若／有經願勿輒開／貞觀八年歲次甲午／□月乙卯十五日巳
