草聖帖 米芾

此帖為米芾論書之作。凡九行，六十五字。其先以：「草書若不入晉人格轍，徒成下品。」標舉其書學主張，再就歷來重要草書家加以評述，其中論及唐代（618～907）僧人懷素、高閑、●（上巧+下言）光等人之草書，用語雖偏激切，亦可見佛家僧者在草書史上的重要地位與影響。
米芾以草書應學晉人，而此帖之書寫確切落實其書學主張，字字草法完備、獨立自足，通篇只見一處上下字相連，不以繚繞牽帶為能事。此帖雖未及晉人之雍容蘊藉，但筆畫八面出鋒、結構之疏密開闔、行氣之錯落自然，均見出米芾十足功力。
米芾字元章，號鹿門居士、襄陽漫士、海岳外史、無礙居士等，世號「米癲」。北宋（960～1127）書畫家、篆刻家，精於鑒別，好收藏名跡。書法卓然成家，印章亦多為其所親鎸，有不少書畫傑作傳世。
