羅漢像 牧谿

屬禪意羅漢畫，即一般所稱的「禪畫」。作者牧谿為中國南宋（1127～1279）著名的禪僧兼禪畫家，初為儒生，中年於江蘇杭州西湖長慶寺出家，為徑山（今浙江餘杭）無準師範之法嗣，法名法常。此幅立意超俗，是南宋禪畫羅漢圖的代表作品。畫面上有足利義滿所藏印「天山」印跡。一九四○年指定為日本重要文化財。
羅漢身披白衣，宴坐岩間，身旁迴環一條蟒蛇，正張口仰視羅漢，而羅漢卻神情自若，似進入甚深禪定。畫面雲霧籠罩，充滿了逸趣與禪機。作者將筆力集中於羅漢的相貌與衣褶，相對於四周岩石粗放的皴擦筆觸，益加烘托出羅漢如如不動的境界。
